Betting Academy offers horse racing and football betting systems. Most investors won’t be so interested in that however, because following those systems require good amount of time and commitment. Assuming you are busy like me andnot interested in spending much time to earn money, I’d pay attention only to the passive investment opportunities they offer.

The Trading Club
I would call this a “betting club”, but since they have another service with such name, they have called it a trading club. This club provides exactly what people like you are probably searching for – investment in horse racing without the need to place the trades yourself.
The size of the investment in this club is fixed to GBP 2,000 and this will be locked for 4 months. They club keeps 5% commission on all winning trades plus fixed fee of GBP 47 each month.
Unfortunately I could not find public information about their trading club performance.
The Betting Club
This is a different service which is similar to the managed forex accounts we discuss here often. But of course, it’s quite different too. There is GBP 50 monthly fee, which gives you access to their advisory service. Additional investment of GBP 1,000 minimum and GBP 2,500 maximum will make you a managed account owner. Now here the things become more interesting, they’ll let you withdraw your profits only after you reach GBP 2,500, so you may want to consider this as an effective minimum.
In this service however they mention past performance based on which accumulated investment of GBP 10,000 (which is the maximum) can bring you GBP 20,000 – GBP 40,000 in profits per year. This is mostly the thing that caught my attention when reviewing this service.
Further investigation of Betting Academy is definitely required, but it looks like a very sweet opportunity to me. They accept Credit Cards so fraud risk seems minimal, if any.
If you have an experience with them or any other managed betting service, please share.

This news is interesting one for me cause i’m a better too.
I only bet on football match. (i’m quite good in this 😛 )
It would be great if we can see thier picks.
I’m interest how they put thier bets (thier system).
Looking forward for more DD from you about this one.
I joined the Trading Club as an investor in August 2007. I wired £500 for a share as described on the website as instructed by Matt who runs the website. The blurb on the website said that it would be traded and that you could expect to receive a monthly dividend of £150-£200 per share paid into Paypal. In addition, you would receive email notification of trades being made. At the end of the investment period (31/12/07), you would have the option of receiving your initial investment back by selling your shares back to them. Well, I received 2 emails in August and then nothing. No dividends have been received and I have received no reply to any of my emails. I noticed that Matt has more than one website/blog eg http://www.sportsvisionuk.com, http://www.bettingacademy.com and also tried to reach him through the contact section of these other sites, but have still received no reply. The contact phone number given on the website did not work. He seems to have forgotten about me, but is still advertising his services. My only hope is that he still intends to refund my money when the investment period ends on 31st December and that he is basically honest, but offers horrendous customer service. I am extremely frustrated and will continue to try to contact him. If you are able to do so, I would be grateful if you could pass on my concerns to him. If I am not returned my monies in January then I will consider my options. In the meantime, I would certainly approach this program with caution.
Thanks for the comments, mates. What you say is definitely a red light, Christopher. I thought their managed accounts worked like forex managed where the funds stay in your account on your name? Anyway, thanks for the warning. I am not in hurry to send them money anyway, but hoped the service would be real.
I’ll see if I can get in touch with these guys.
P.S. Edited: I just re-read and saw you said you have invested in the trading club, so it was not managed account
Just thought I’d update you. I’ve finally received an email from Matt saying that the Betting Academy is no longer his concern as he left them in September to set up his own trading club http://www.proxtrading.com He says that the Betting Academy is now run by a guy called Ian Walton, who has just forwarded my emails to him. Matt says that Ian disputes my investment but that he remembers it and is prepared to refund from his end if necessary. He also says that he has asked him to remove the old website. I am sending him my bank details and will post again when/if funds are received. If this happens, then I will applaud his honesty. However, personally, I would not invest in this venture again.
Thanks for the update, Christopher. I am in process of getting more info about that proxtrading.com club by the way.
Hi Christopher, Can you forward me Matt’s contact details or Ian’s as I have the same problem as you do. How’s it going regarding the refund?
Thank you
Hi Perdana
Matt’s email is matt@proxtrading.com. Regards the refund, I am still waiting. He requested my bank details, which I sent him, but unfortunately I made a mistake in the account number. I received an email from him saying that he tried to make a payment, but could not because do so because of this error. I have therefore sent him my corrected details ( a week ago) but have not yet received refund. I will try again today and update here as necessary. Let me know how you get on.
Well, I have been refunded half of what I am owed so far. I am now waiting for the balance to be refunded, which Matt has promised he will do. Will update when this happens.
That’s good to hear, Christopher, thanks for the update.
Very good read – thank you!
