Trading Club And Managed Accounts By Betting Academy

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Betting Academy offers horse racing and football betting systems. Most investors won’t be so interested in that however, because following those systems require good amount of time and commitment. Assuming you are busy like me andnot interested in spending much time to earn money, I’d pay attention only to the passive investment opportunities they offer.

The Trading Club

I would call this a “betting club”, but since they have another service with such name, they have called it a trading club. This club provides exactly what people like you are probably searching for – investment in horse racing without the need to place the trades yourself.

The size of the investment in this club is fixed to GBP 2,000 and this will be locked for 4 months. They club keeps 5% commission on all winning trades plus fixed fee of GBP 47 each month.

Unfortunately I could not find public information about their trading club performance.

The Betting Club

This is a different service which is similar to the managed forex accounts we discuss here often. But of course, it’s quite different too. There is GBP 50 monthly fee, which gives you access to their advisory service. Additional investment of GBP 1,000 minimum and GBP 2,500 maximum will make you a managed account owner. Now here the things become more interesting, they’ll let you withdraw your profits only after you reach GBP 2,500, so you may want to consider this as an effective minimum.

In this service however they mention past performance based on which accumulated investment of GBP 10,000 (which is the maximum) can bring you GBP 20,000 – GBP 40,000 in profits per year. This is mostly the thing that caught my attention when reviewing this service.

Further investigation of Betting Academy is definitely required, but it looks like a very sweet opportunity to me. They accept Credit Cards so fraud risk seems minimal, if any.

If you have an experience with them or any other managed betting service, please share.

Update On Several Managed Forex Accounts

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

The holidays are coming and it’s a good time to check out how some of the promising managed forex accounts are doing recently. There are about 7-8 services I either follow close or have already invested in. For most of them you have already read reviews or picks on this site, others will be reviewed soon.

If you plan to start the New Year with a good aggressive investment, keep reading how these services are performing.

GalleonFX (read GalleonFX review) as usual had some ups and downs, but at the moment the profit for December is about 8.5%. Not bad in my book. The promotions are over and the minimum is now again $10,000.

FX FarEast (read FX Far East Pick) has not been updated after the flat October. The minimum remains $5,000 as far as I know.

FXCM Sentiment Fund (Read FXCM Sentiment Fund Pick) no longer accepts $1,000 deposits. The minimum investment is now $5,000. The ROI of the Sentiment Fund for November is 5.21% and the ROI of Sentiment Aggressive Fund is 9.77%. Well done, too bad I missed the 1k deal.

Best Trading Systems (Read Best Trading Systems Pick) have not mailed any update about Orca or Rusky since September. Their site is currently not working. How do these people do business at all?

DEV Managed Forex (Read DEV Managed Forex Pick) made 10% profit for November. Managed Forex Pro Blog reported another 3-4% up for December so far. With this and the $5,000 minimum, DEV remains one of the very good choices for me.

FXstreet Managed Forex Account (Stay tuned for a review soon) made 5.64% for November. Year-to-date ROI is 42.44%. The minimum for this service is only $2,500. Who said there are no good managed accounts for the small investor?

Zurich-1 (Not yet reviewed, stay tuned) is a very promissing managed forex service which I follow for months. November has been up 8.12%, and December to date is +3%-4%. This service accepts $10,000 minimum.

In addition to the ones above, I am considering at least 10 another managed forex (and not only forex) accounts. You will read reviews and picks about them soon. Make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss some good opportunity.

Do you know about any other managed accounts which may be promising? If so, please share.

Two Weeks With Millennium Traders Forex Signals – First Impressions

Friday, December 14th, 2007

The reason to publish this review about Millennium Traders in October was because I signed up for their trial and was nicely impressed. At that time there were many reasons I was not able to continue after the trial. But, as you know, trial with demo account is one thing, paid signals with real account is completely different one.

Since there is affiliate link in both articles I decided I should take the responsibility to test better their service and put my money where my mouth is.

So I went ahead and subscribed for their real signal service at the end of November.

I have tried only the Forex signal chat room as at this point I have no interest and free cash to trade the stocks. So here we go.

First Impressions of Millennium Traders

There are two moderators there in at this time – JT and Barry. Because of my time zone and availability I am able to catch only JT’s signals. So far:

  • There were more good signals than bad ones
  • There were few exceptionally good trades
  • There were few that hit stop loss
  • His trading style is a bit aggressive, but he often suggests you to close position before he closes himself. You have the choice to follow him or to follow his suggestions
  • He trades mostly GBP/USD, USD/CAD, USD/JPY and EUR/USD
  • He trades only when he see a good opportunity. So some sessions there might be no signals at all

In general my impressions so far are quite positive. I have made about 3% profit for these 2 weeks.

There is one very important thing with trading chatrooms like this:

Do not expect to duplicate the trader’s results exactly! When you see the figures on Millennium Traders you may expect to achieve the same sweet profits. Most likely it won’t be exactly like that – there are several reasons for that:

  • Depending on your timezone you won’t be able to catch all signals
  • Except you never stand up from the PC you’ll miss some actions
  • Sometimes you’ll be scary and close position earlier than the moderators

In general I think this signal service is good and honest. You just need to have realistic expectations, to have some basic understanding how forex works and to be able to spend some time on the PC (it’s ideal if your work is on PC anyway).

I’ll keep posting further updates on Millennium Traders, but you cal also join and see yourself. There is a free trial so you don’t have to risk money upfront.

Managed Options And Futures By Schwab Capital Advisors

Monday, December 10th, 2007

If you have read this blog for a while, you know we put a strong focus on Forex and especially Managed Forex Accounts. That is because gives some of the best options for good aggressive investing with extremely fast liquidity.

Well, the good news is there are more options to invest your money for high returns. Futures and Options trading can bring great returns (and great losses of course) with reasonable risk. How reasonable exacty is questionable, but I would say it’s more reasonable than in Forex. Enough poetry, see what I have found for you.

Schwab Capital Advisors offer managed account Schwab Market Neutral–Option Writing Strategy called with a minimum investment of just $10,000. I am saying “just $10,000″ because most managed futures and options account start from $50,000, $100,000 or even $500,000.

The target performance of this investment vehicle is 24% – 48% per annum. So far they have only 4 months of trading history averaging 7.5% per month. This is damn good result, but of course the history is too short to make forecasts. However this is definitely a hot opportunity to keep an eye on.

I am not an active investor in Schwab (yet), but of course I did some research. To save you some hassle, keep in mind that Charles Schwab who is reported for fraud all over the net probably have nothing to do with Schwab Capital Advisors.

If you decide to try this investment or already have experience with it, please do let me know your review.

How I Lost Few Hundreds With BetOnMarkets Guru

Monday, December 3rd, 2007

A couple of months ago I gave you some info about BetOnMarkets Clubs And Gurus. I hope you have taken the last paragraphs seriously.

“Of course there is zero guarantee that the guru is really a guru.

In September I decided to subscribe for a guru called Carlo Ferrari who at that had a pretty impressive track record. The first few bets were fifty-fifty, I even made a small profit. Then for some reason Carlo was convinced that NASDAQ will fall down and started sending signal after signal for bearish bets. If you have followed the markets you know what happened to NASDAQ at that time – raised pretty nice.

All the next 10-15 bets I opened following the signals expired at $0 so I lost all the balance I had.

With this post I am NOT trying to hint that Carlo or any other guru is scammer, not at all. What I want to emphasis on is only that betting on markets is much riskier than “normal” trading. And that the gurus who take 10-20 bucks are rarely real gurus.

Just be careful, don’t rely too much on past results.
